The mission of the Ministry Excellence Center is Helping Good Churches Reach Their Greatness.

It’s not about size. It’s not about numbers. It’s about being the church God called you to be…and doing it well!

Our key organizing principle is that excellence in ministry can best be attained when leaders shape the culture of a church with an attitude of abundance, spirit of generosity and outward focus on mission.

The healthiest churches are very intentional about everything they do.  Such intentionality leads to continuous learning and constant improvement.  We seek to find good examples of excellence in ministry and create clear pictures of best practices for healthy churches.  

We believe in a kind of growth that is measured in more than numbers:  A kind of growth that leads to a life of completeness and contributes to the wellness of all creation. We call this holistic growth. 

Healthy churches measure the success of their ministry in multiples of one:  One life transformed. One need met. One body healed. One relationship restored. One person finding hope.

We are committed to the rise of healthy churches through holistic growth.  Holistic growth includes

Creating special collaborative partnerships can enhance the range of resources and services offered.  We envision such relationships with key MCC leaders and churches noted for excellence in various areas, and with other organizations that support ministry excellence. 

We hope that the Ministry Excellence Center will create a new journey of church leaders who want to become a part of a learning network that can improve the health and vitality of their congregations.  Let’s learn and grow together!

The Sunshine Cathedral

The Sunshine Cathedral is a Metropolitan Community Church affiliated with The Center for Progressive Christianity.
